Hi Lionel – thank you for such a wonderful comment! Reading both Doug’s and my own interpretation has been a big hit with readers. We did it primarily to give people an idea of how they can interpret elemental combinations, but also to show how there’s no right or wrong interpretation, that whatever feels right to the reader in that moment is the right one. Elemental Dignities can be an academic subject, we wanted to let our intuition, and our imaginations run riot to show people they can too, but most importantly, that you can have a great deal of fun when you apply EDs to any reading.

Thank you both so much! What a fantastic post. I love the bright and well done images in your blog, it always impresses me and really makes the content ‘pop’! I first commented on Doug’s blog, but I had to say thank you here too.

This is by far the clearest and most comprehensive learning tool for the GD system of elemental dignities I’ve ever encountered. I agree with your advice that the more you try this out, the more it will grow into one’s personal style – by itself it is deceptively simplistic! For instance, I can’t personally imagine a card being ‘unaffected’ by its neighbors in all combinations – life and tarot are messier than that

Your and Doug’s individual read on the elemental combinations are stunning. I will be writing out my own interpretations on each triad and then contrast mine with yours – And i invite anyone else reading to do the same! The differences and parallels in your interpretations show so much depth to anyone looking to better understand this topic.

This has got to be the most comprehensive and the most well written data on elemental dignitaries ever!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. ED’s have always been a major issue for me. Even though I used to use Thoth as my primary deck for an entire year and a half, and read with ED”s, with most other decks, I found using the same manner of ED’s all the more confusing. But now, courtesy your amazing post, I applied all that I learned to a few readings.. and the results were AMAZING

Thanks Catherine but I found them on Raven’s Site, the only ones I had to change were Empress, Magician, World, WOF, HP and Tower – The GD attributions make it far easier to use than Book T’s planetary attributions.
