Reviews

I wanted to introduce the Reviews category as I feel that the people, the websites and the Tarot decks featured on my Tarot blog deserve so much more than just an entry on a page. Every review or interview that I have written and conducted have been done so with a great deal of passion, and from a strong sense of connection to the artist or their work, be that a Tarot deck, artwork or even their website or blog.

The soul does a dance when it connects with such beauty; when it sees part of itself reflected on the screen or from a card. To see something in a drawing, on a wall painting or a Tarot card that stirs the soul is like poetry to the eyes. A thing of beauty should be cherished; it should be shared for all to see so they might feel the stirring in their own soul. To experience joy and to simply smile at the feeling of warmth inside is to embrace love and life. We feel this in the beauty all around us, whether we can recreate it or not, our hearts and souls recognise it and we connect with the creativity of the artist, embracing the life they portray to us, our bliss reflected in our reaction to it.

Osho says it best:

To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.

Everyone featured on this page has stirred my heart and soul and left me feeling a sense of euphoria at their work to the point that I want to shout about it. I cannot hide my expression of joy or emotion, for it’s my soul’s reaction to the reflection it sees when it views such beauty and creativity, and does a little dance of its own.

Tarot Blogs

The Wonderful Tarot Blog, QuirkeriesShe’s A Rainbow
In a quiet corner of the blogosphere lies a wonderful, unspoilt land of beauty, uniqueness, directness and independence. This little corner belongs to Sharyn, owner and creator of Quirkeries – one of my favourite tarot blogs.

Tarot Decks

The Found Tarot, from RoswilaFound An Angel
Every once in a while you find something so unique that you have no doubt that there is some kind of divinity involved; something so truly wonderful that you feel in awe of its beauty and simplicity; and wonder why on earth you didn’t think of it yourself!

The Gaian Tarot
The Gaian Tarot, from Joanna Powell ColbertLike many others, I have been watching the progress of the creation of the wonderful Gaian Tarot from Joanna Powell Colbert. Nine years is a long time to work on a single project, but the cards themselves are so visually stunning they have definitely been worth the effort and definitely worth the wait.

Interviews

Interview with Joanna Powell Colbert, creator of the Gaian TarotThe Gaian Tarot – An Interview With Joanna Powell Colbert
I recently began writing a review of the wonderful Gaian Tarot, created by Joanna Powell Colbert. Communication with Joanna regarding permission to use the artwork on my Tarot blog quickly became chatty and as luck would have it, she kindly agreed to a short interview based on the Gaian Tarot. This post is that interview. Enjoy.

Hi Catherine,
I found your beautiful blog and was wondering if you would be interested in doing a review on my deck set “Affirmations for the Everyday Goddess”?

If you do, let me know and I can send you a complimentary copy of the deck.
Thank you,
Pamela Wells
