Every once in a while you find something so unique that you have no doubt that there is some kind of divinity involved; something so truly wonderful that you feel in awe of its beauty and simplicity; and wonder why on earth you didn’t think of it yourself!
The Found Tarot is the brainchild of Roswila, aka Patricia Kelly from the inspiring Tarot blog Roswila’s Tarot Gallery & Journal; though I suspect there has been more than a little divine inspiration and input with her work. When you actually see that work on her blog, you may question any doubts you had about serendipity or even doubts you may have had about divinity at all. My own questioning has been severely challenged by her work, it’s truly breathtaking.
It all began with a photograph Roswila took, inspired by the image but not realising its significance until later, she had in fact found her first card for the Found Tarot: so called because this is literally how it all began, by simply taking photographs with her new digital camera, she found tarot cards in the photo’s themselves. The first card is Judgment and you can see why too, the image and the message is crystal clear.
It didn’t stop there though, once Roswila checked her previously taken photographs, she began finding tarot cards in the images there and so a new project was begun – and a new Tarot deck was born.
The creative process is one that never ceases to amaze me, and when you consider someone as creative as Roswila, it’s no wonder that her blogs are jam packed with expression. She is very honest about her life and that comes through, the honesty; but with it also comes her excitement for her new discoveries – and that is contagious.
A Tarot reader for over 30 years, Roswila is a very talented lady; apart from her new love of digital photography, she writes poetry, and explores tarot and dreams through this medium, specifically haiku’s. She maintains several blogs and a Yahoo group called Dreamjin.
I’m excited by all of her creative projects, and I’m awfully glad I found her. I will be watching and reading her blog with my own eager anticipation for the next batch of Found Tarot Cards and I hope you will too.
You can see more of the Found Tarot on Roswila’s Tarot Gallery and Journal.
Her poetry can be found at Roswila’s Dream and Poetry Realm.

What a great post and what a great find. I just checked out her blog and it is truly awesome.
Though I was already a fan of Roswila’s Found Tarot, your discussion here shines a beautiful new light on the project! Kudos to both of you!
Hey Guys,
Thanks for your comments
I feel Roswila’s work is inspired and just had to shout about it!

I’m deeply moved and more than a bit astounded at this beautiful post, Catherine. You shine a new light on what I’m doing. I am reminded that inspiration is what comes through us, i.e, from elsewhere (and I sometimes think “elsewhen” as well). Maybe this reminder will help keep clearing the channel for The Found Tarot to traverse into the here and now, in spite of my life’s ups and downs.
Again, many thanks for your post, and your beautiful blog.
Life will always be full of ups and downs Roswila, as you know; but when you create such beauty, you know everything else pales into insignificance.
Keep up the creativity – you’ve inspired me, if no-one else; I just want everyone to know what a wonderful thing you have in your hands, and what an inspiration you are personally, your enthusiasm and your work.
As Douglas said, it truly is awesome.

What a fun on-going project for her, thanks for sharing. If she wishes it, I hope she finds a publisher.
Yes, it’s a wonderful project Sharyn; and something we shouldn’t keep to ourselves
Glad you enjoyed it.
