In a nutshell: “Life is moving in the right direction. Stage One is complete, Stage Two is about to begin – make sure you’re ready.”

The 4 of Wands is an interesting card for the beginning of the week. From the Sun & Moon Tarot, it’s called Completion (its roots are in the Crowley Thoth Tarot) and it’s difficult to intuit further from that point.

The Rider Waite-Smith shows that familiar happy family scene, which does include completion in a sense, a coming together of plans, groups, the family.

The imagery in this 4 of Wands has strong connections to the Wheel of Fortune, which when we consider its cyclical nature, does indeed show completion.

But that’s pretty much where the similarity ends. It’s true that both cards show completion and that after completion, the cycle begins again. The difference is in the planning. The Wheel doesn’t normally indicate plans or anything with longevity. It’s interested in where you are in the here and now – up or down or round about.

The 4 of Wands, and indeed Crowley, tells us that this is just the completion of stage one. Stage two is about to begin.

Plans you made previously are showing signs of movement, positive progress – completion of a stage. Life experiences are often incremental in their intensity, which also means you need to be ready for the next stage.

Make sure you’ve dotted all the i’s and crossed the t’s, filed away what’s dealt with and make room for what’s new – it’ll come a whole lot quicker if it can just slot right in.

This is a happy card, and so a nice day is before you, even if the completion involves unpleasant business, at least you know it’s coming to an end. Allow yourself to celebrate, even a little, and enjoy the feelings of a job well done and a life moving forward, for that is the best news of the day.
