If you have ever read the posts and articles that Douglas Gibb writes and produces for his Tarot blog, Tarot Eon, you won’t be surprised at the news that one of those articles has been included in the widely circulated Tarot Professionals quarterly magazine, Tarosophist International.
The brain child of Marcus Katz, Tarot Professionals is an international Tarot group of Tarot readers, professionals and enthusiasts alike. Honorary members include none other than Mary K Greer, Rachel Pollack, Lon Milo duQuette, Ciro Marchetti and many others.
The current magazine is an extra special edition of 146 pages that solely features the Thoth Tarot deck. Available as a free download to members of Tarot Professionals* with an exclusive printed hard back version also available which is a real treasure and a book in its own right.
When you consider that Tarot Eon is barely 4 months old, with Douglas’ work being reproduced in print, it’s testament to his ability to convey his thought and ideas so well. Being well read and a great thinker though, has helped Douglas propel Tarot Eon forward – it has already become a powerhouse of information for every level of reader. As a professional Tarot reader for many years, Douglas has a lot to share. He’s been very honest about situations in readings that haven’t gone well, and offered insights and ideas to his readers to help them overcome the same problems. His honesty and his modesty are refreshing in an arena of many self-proclaimed experts.
I like the idea of the Fool getting in there almost randomly and at the last minute ~ Marcus Katz
A University graduate with an Honours Degree in Philosophy, he explores philosophical ideas in his writing. He also has a love of history and that features his writings and posts on his Tarot blog. His particular areas of interest are the Greek myths and legends, and he used these to explore divination and free will. Other great posts have included his hugely successful and popular Beginners Tutorial To Reading Tarot Cards; tips and tricks in the How To series; and the new and exciting contributions he’s invited from other authors.
It was his recent post Four Things You Need To Know About The Fool, that caught the eye of Marcus Katz and so found its way into Tarosophist International, albeit at the last minute, but as Marcus said to Douglas, he liked the spontaneity and randomness of the inclusion, this is about the Fool after all.
For me, I’m not surprised at his new found fame. His ideas, of which there are many, are fresh and original; his style clean but in depth. Established subjects he covers are approached and presented from an angle unique to Douglas’ way of thinking and that’s one of the things that sets him apart from other Tarot blogs and authors. His writing has prompted others to expand on his ideas, and they have proudly promoted him as their source of inspiration on their own Tarot blogs. It doesn’t take too much searching to also find posts written about him and Tarot Eon, citing him as someone who has been a source of help, and Tarot Eon as a resource they found invaluable.
What can you expect from Tarot Eon? The unexpected ~ Douglas Gibb
Tarosophist International is Douglas’ first foray into the world of publishing, and I have no doubt it will be the springboard to many many others. To be considered an equal among so many leading Tarot authors is an achievement in itself – the Tarot world has been waiting for someone like Douglas, with his fresh and original approach not just to Tarot, but in the presentation of his thoughts and ideas.
These are indeed exciting times, not just for the expanding Tarot Professionals, but for Douglas and Tarot Eon. He has many more ideas and projects in the pipeline, and I for one am excited at the prospect of reading as much as he can write, as fast as he can write it. I’m sure you would like to join me in congratulating Douglas on his wonderful achievement – it’s well deserved and oh so appropriate – leading lights should be seen and definitely heard. Let’s spread the word.
*To celebrate the success of our first year, new members can join Tarot Professionals via our Facebook group with the promotion that they can offer us any rate they’d like to pay for the year! This promotion is a one-off and will be removed 29th September, after which new members will pay the standard £35 for student; and £55 for professional annual subscription rates ~ Marcus Katz, Director of Tarot Professionals

How fabulous! Douglas’ blog is great (so is yours, by the way). His insights are spot on and I learn so much from his posts. He absolutely deserves the recognition that he is getting! Kudos to him – and thank you for posting this!
Hi Theresa,
It’s awesome news isn’t! And you’re right, he deserves all the recognition he’s getting. He has such a lot to share, and he’s very honest and generous with it too. We’re all better off for having him and his blog around
Thank you for your kind words about my blog, but the day belongs to Doug and Tarot Eon
Blessings,
Catherine
That’s the truth about Doug! I was surprised to see his name in the magazine when I got my copy; I wasn’t expecting to see someone I know, outside some of the “big names.” Doug has written some thought-provoking pieces at Tarot Eon, and has shown an ability to really convey tarot, as both an entity and as a process for the reader. So it’s good to see him getting some exposure outside of his blog.
Hi Jason,
Thanks for your comment – never a truer word spoken! It’s great that he’s being recognised amongst his peers, he truly deserves it – and I’ve no doubt it’s just the beginning
Blessings,
Catherine
